What is wedding painting?

Wedding painting is a unique form of art that captures the magic of a couple's special day. As a tangible keepsake, it goes beyond the confines of traditional photography, offering a beautifully hand-painted representation of that cherished moment. It is live entertainment and commissioned artwork, all in one!

On your big day, I will set up an easel to paint a scene of your choice (i.e. ceremony, walkout, first dance, etc.). I paint while entertaining guests and then take the artwork home to finish in detail using archival-quality oil paint.

Who are you?

My name is Scout, and I live in the beautiful city of Asheville, NC, with my husband and daughter. I obtained my BS in Art from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, and while I currently work full-time in a medical library, I spend my weekends painting at weddings.

Since I was young, I’ve enjoyed drawing and painting people in as much detail as possible. This interest naturally led me to portrait work, and I’ve spent several years working as a portrait artist, creating hundreds of drawings and paintings for clients all around the world. Then someone asked me to paint at their wedding, and I simply never stopped!

I love both portrait work and wedding painting because they allow me to peer into the human experience. To be involved in others’ most precious moments—memories and loved ones they want preserved forever—is the greatest honor. I couldn’t ask for a more meaningful role as an artist!
