What to Expect

Pre-Wedding

  1. Interested in my services? First step is to contact me via form or by emailing artbyscout@gmail.com. Verify that your date is available for booking, and discuss any applicable travel fees or special requests.

    • You can also check my availability using the appointment calendar at the bottom of my Pricing & Booking page

  2. Use my booking calendar to reserve the date, submit the booking deposit, and complete my small questionnaire.

    • After this point, no payment is necessary until the painting is 100% finished in my home studio.

  3. Share my information with any relevant wedding planners and venue coordinators. They’ll need to know I’m coming.

  4. Sit tight until the big day and reach out if you need anything. I’ll do the same!

Wedding Day

  1. I arrive 1-2 hours before ceremony to set-up and begin sketching and acrylic painting. If they aren’t too busy off working magic, I also try to touch base with any wedding planners.

    • Sometimes planners/coordinators prefer I work in one spot, even if it is away from the chosen scene. For example, perhaps I am to paint a ceremony scene, but it’s deemed best for me to stay in the reception area. If this is the case, I take reference pictures to work elsewhere.

  2. I paint, enjoying the outcome of your carefully laid plans while entertaining guests who stop by my easel.

    • I aim to paint the bride, groom, and as much background as possible before my departure, but cannot guarantee anything. I do not attempt to paint the bridal party or guests day-of.

  3. I depart with the painting after 5 hours or in time to be home by midnight.

    • Exceptions can be made if a hotel is provided for.

Post-Wedding

  1. I take the painting home to finish in-detail with high quality oil paint.

  2. Due to my dedication for detail and use of layers with slow-drying materials, one painting takes around 4 weeks to complete. Therefore wait times can vary up to 8 months, depending on where you are in the queue.

    • Though necessary to give every painting the attention it deserves, waiting is difficult! Please don’t hesitate to reach out for updates. I do my best to make it worth it.

    • To ensure you receive the best product possible, I may recompose the artwork. For example, perhaps I adjust things so the bride and groom are larger than I drew them day-of.

  3. A soon as the painting is finished, I email you photos of the artwork to review. Revisions are free.

  4. Once you approve of the painting, it must dry for two weeks before it can be safely varnished. I use a satin sheen varnish for protection.

  5. Final payment is due prior to shipping.

  6. Once payment is received, I ship the artwork at no cost to you and provide a tracking link.
